twingz & Forschung Burgenland: Green Energy Lab Open Data Platform

twingz and Forschung Burgenland, want to contribute to the improvement of life through joint research and developments. 🌱🌏

Green Energy Lab – Project “Open Data Platform”

The “Open Data Platform” is a central interface in the Green Energy Lab – all results generated in the Green Energy Lab flow together in it. This gives users easy access to comprehensive, relevant data on the energy sector.

The project aims to deepen knowledge about interrelationships in energy systems. In the future, users from households and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular will be able to benefit from this. End-user data provides information about consumption-intensive applications and enables a better overview and understanding of energy costs. The analysis of consumption patterns and load flows of users is also the basis for the development of forecasting models. This is an important step to be able to respond to the flexible needs of the end-users even more in the future.

For this purpose, twingz processes disaggregated end-user data to develop consumption patterns, derive forecasting models, and provide recommendations for different actors along the energy supply chain.
The result of the disaggregation is the identification of the most electricity-consuming appliances in the household. In a later phase of the project, the result can also be made available to consumers via apps (e.g. EVN App) and other platforms (e.g. Smart Grid Control subproject market and energy community platform) so that they can understand the energy costs of their household and the impact on the system. Thus, consumers have all the tools in their hands to decide whether to participate in energy markets and system services.

Cheers to improving lives together.

Replace periodic insulation testing! Increase fire and equipment protection!

Thanks to various standards and regulations of the accident insurance institutions/national erection regulations and trade association ordinances, an indispensable contribution is made to safety in the workplace. However, the associated measures often represent a reduction in terms of productivity and increased efficiency.

With the smartRCM product family developed by Doepke Schaltgeräte GmbH and twingz in cooperation, economic goals and preventive maintenance are supported at the same time.

PERMANENT DIFFERENTIAL CURRENT MONITORING
smartRCM is predictive analytics & industrial IoT service that permanently monitors industrial assets to ensure potentials for increasing efficiency and preventing electrical fires using monitoring, and to receive alerts BEFORE safety shutdowns occur if leakage currents or other electrical variables become alarmingly high.

Permanent real-time monitoring of electrical consumption and residual currents, combined with predictive deep learning analytics and built-in alerting and notification functions, optimizes planned but costly shutdowns.

Components, such as the Doepke residual current transformer, which is certified according to EN62020, allow the plant operator to replace the recurring insulation test (Ă–VE/Ă–NORM E 8001-6-62) with permanent residual current monitoring.

The BENEFIT

Service interruptions are reduced!
System protection is increased!

Doepke and twingz are cooperating

Electricity expertise meets software excellence: Doepke Schaltgeräte GmbH from Norden, Lower Saxony, and twingz development GmbH from Vienna are developing an innovative monitoring system for electrical installations together.

Who we are

After intensive preparation, Andreas Müller, Managing Director of Doepke Schaltgeräte GmbH, and Werner Weihs-Sedivy, CEO and founder of twingz development GmbH, officially agreed on cooperation between the two companies in the middle of September. The aim is to develop and market an intelligent monitoring system for electrical installations. The companies from Northern Germany and Austria complement each other perfectly:

For more than 60 years, Doepke Schaltgeräte GmbH has been an expert in the detection of differential currents and shutdown in the event of dangerous residual currents. The company’s product portfolio, therefore, includes a wide range of different residual current circuit breakers as well as residual current monitors. These converters are sensitive to universal currents, detect residual currents from 0 – 100 kHz and report them directly to a data network via Ethernet interface.

This data provides the operator of an electrical system with information about its current status. However, it is also possible to use the data for predictions about the future condition of the system if the data is collected in large quantities, stored, and correlated. This is exactly what Doepke and twingz are developing in their intelligent monitoring system.

In order to prevent operational interruptions, especially in the industrial sector, and to increase the safety of electrical systems, the monitoring system not only visualizes and manages residual currents but also learns the electrical behavior of the system (ML) and can make predictions about future events in the electrical system. This enables preventive intervention before the system shuts down or even causes damage. These capabilities require cloud software and methods of artificial intelligence (AI). This is where the strengths of twingz Development GmbH lie.

Our company, founded in 2010 as a start-up, develops software methods for predictive maintenance and predictable energy consumption in industry, facility management and utilities. For this purpose, we analyze data from the areas of electricity, water, gas and temperature in industrial plants and generate progression and consumption profiles from this data. develops software methods for predictive maintenance and predictable energy consumption in industry, facility management, and utilities. The cooperation project
The cooperation project – an intelligent monitoring system for electrical installations – combines the smart residual current monitoring of the Doepke converters with the AI methods of twingz. It will be of particular interest for operators of larger industrial plants and also for insurers.

apti award 2020: twingz is one of the most innovative real estate start-ups!

On Monday evening, the finalists of this year’s apti award, among them, twingz, held their final pitch in front of the jury and the audience and thus competed for the title of the best PropTech Start-Up.

apti award 2020🏆
For the second time the Austrian PropTech Initiative (apti) was looking for the best real estate start-up – this year in the two categories Early Stage and Later Stage. Now the winners have been determined: Ampeers Energy in the category “Early Stage” and twingz in the category “Later Stage”!

twingz – winners in the category “Later Stage
All finalists had a total of 8 minutes each to present their innovative business concept, answer any questions they might have, and face the top-class jury. CEO Werner Weihs-Sedivy presented the twingz Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics Engine, which makes useful information from the data streams of various sensors and providers available to humans, and convinced the expert jury in the category “Later Stage”.

The jury included the two well-known business angels Rudi Fries and Markus Ertler, apti advisory board member Eugen Otto (Otto Immobilien), the journalist Erich Ebenkofler (Die Presse), as well as the two main sponsors Daniel Dworak (willhaben, representing Judith Kössner) and Veronika Ecker (EHL Immobilien, representing Michael Ehlmaier). The international jurors Bryan Lyandvert (MetaProp) and Marie Daubourg (Fifth Wall) could unfortunately not be present due to the Corona Pandemic.

The two winners will receive an advertising budget from the media partners “Die Presse”, “immoflash.at” and “Immobilien Magazin”. In addition, they will receive one of the coveted places in the pitch box of the next “PropTech Vienna” worth 1200€. These and the other finalists (andys.cc, Realest8, metr, Nuki, PriceHubble, and R8tech) will also receive a one-year free membership in the Austrian PropTech Initiative. The audience was also allowed to vote for a winner again! The Start-Up Breeze Technologies wins in the public voting and also gets a place in the Pitch Box of PropTech Vienna.
