twingz is one of Austria’s ClimateTech-Startups

Glacier and the Green Tech Cluster have jointly produced an overview of Austria’s ClimateTech start-ups.

The map is divided into the areas “Food & Agriculture”, “Energy”, “Mobility”, “Manufacturing & Industry”, “Buildings & Infrastructure” and “Circular & More”. Here you will find well-known names like Too Good To Go and Rebel Meat (both in “Food & Agriculture”), Carployee and ummadum (“Mobility”), Refurbed, Das Merch and Meine Wollke (“Manufacturing & Industry”), Helioz (“Buildings & Infrastructure”) Atmos and Glacier itself (“Circular & More”). You can find twingz together with EET in the “Energy” section. There are also new names added, which are less known to the public so far.

Register your startup too!
The first version is now online, but of course not yet complete. Therefore, Glacier and the Green Tech Cluster have launched a call for startups to apply to be represented at the Climate Tech Landscape. Register now!

Doepke and twingz are cooperating

Electricity expertise meets software excellence: Doepke Schaltgeräte GmbH from Norden, Lower Saxony, and twingz development GmbH from Vienna are developing an innovative monitoring system for electrical installations together.

Who we are

After intensive preparation, Andreas Müller, Managing Director of Doepke Schaltgeräte GmbH, and Werner Weihs-Sedivy, CEO and founder of twingz development GmbH, officially agreed on cooperation between the two companies in the middle of September. The aim is to develop and market an intelligent monitoring system for electrical installations. The companies from Northern Germany and Austria complement each other perfectly:

For more than 60 years, Doepke Schaltgeräte GmbH has been an expert in the detection of differential currents and shutdown in the event of dangerous residual currents. The company’s product portfolio, therefore, includes a wide range of different residual current circuit breakers as well as residual current monitors. These converters are sensitive to universal currents, detect residual currents from 0 – 100 kHz and report them directly to a data network via Ethernet interface.

This data provides the operator of an electrical system with information about its current status. However, it is also possible to use the data for predictions about the future condition of the system if the data is collected in large quantities, stored, and correlated. This is exactly what Doepke and twingz are developing in their intelligent monitoring system.

In order to prevent operational interruptions, especially in the industrial sector, and to increase the safety of electrical systems, the monitoring system not only visualizes and manages residual currents but also learns the electrical behavior of the system (ML) and can make predictions about future events in the electrical system. This enables preventive intervention before the system shuts down or even causes damage. These capabilities require cloud software and methods of artificial intelligence (AI). This is where the strengths of twingz Development GmbH lie.

Our company, founded in 2010 as a start-up, develops software methods for predictive maintenance and predictable energy consumption in industry, facility management and utilities. For this purpose, we analyze data from the areas of electricity, water, gas and temperature in industrial plants and generate progression and consumption profiles from this data. develops software methods for predictive maintenance and predictable energy consumption in industry, facility management, and utilities. The cooperation project
The cooperation project – an intelligent monitoring system for electrical installations – combines the smart residual current monitoring of the Doepke converters with the AI methods of twingz. It will be of particular interest for operators of larger industrial plants and also for insurers.
